Q: How am I charged?

You pay in tokens, and only when your content actually plays on a screen, never for time reserved but unused. Playlist slots are billed in blocks of 5 seconds at 1 token a block, so a 15-second slot is 3 tokens. A campaign slot is 50 tokens per play. 1 token = 10 XAF, and tokens never expire. The calculator does the sums for you.

Q: What does the QR code cost?

A campaign’s QR is free, with no charge for showing it or for scans. On a playlist slot the QR costs 1 token each time it is shown plus 1 token per scan.

Q: When do I start paying?

Nothing is charged until your campaign has been reviewed (within 24 hours), approved and is live. After that, tokens come off your balance as your ad plays, and every debit is listed in the Studio.

Q: How fast do changes go live?

Screens refresh in under 2 seconds after you push an update from your phone. There are no cables and nobody has to visit the screen.

Q: What if the internet goes down at the screen?

Content is cached on the display device, so it keeps playing through an outage. No black screens.

Q: What happens when my tokens run out?

Your ads stop playing until you top up, and we notify you when your balance is low and when it is used up. Unused tokens never expire.

Q: Which TVs and devices work?

Android TV 5.0 and above, Android TV boxes and HDMI sticks, Fire TV Stick (with sideloading enabled) and smart TVs that run Android TV. Samsung Tizen and LG webOS TVs are not supported. The TV app section has the install steps.

Q: What files can I upload?

Images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF) and videos (MP4, WebM), up to 20 MB each. Best sizes are 1920 × 1080 for landscape and 1080 × 1920 for portrait. iPhone HEIC photos are not supported: switch the camera to Most Compatible or convert to JPG first. The upload guide has the full list.

Q: I own a screen. Can I join the network?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp at +237 678 000 555. We install the UGO app on your device for free and your screen joins the ad network.

Q: Do some screens cost more at certain hours?

A screen owner can set a premium for day or night hours. It changes the price of each play (rounded to whole tokens), and the calculator’s advanced options let you model it. Ask us for the rate of a specific screen.

A started block is billed in full: a 16 s slot costs the same as 20 s. Trim to 15 s and you pay for one block less. The calculator spots this for you.

Some screens carry a premium for day or night hours, set by the screen owner. Leave both at 0 for a standard screen, or ask us for the rate of the screen you want. Each play is rounded to a whole token, as billed. Day and night follow the billing clock; the standard split is 06:00 to 18:00.

Media formats and requirements

Your creatives play on real screens in real places. Follow these specs for pixel-perfect delivery and a smooth review.

Formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF
Max size: 20 MB per file (images over 10 MB are compressed)
Landscape: 1920 × 1080 px
Portrait: 1080 × 1920 px
No SVG, and no iPhone HEIC photos: switch the camera to Most Compatible or convert to JPG.

Keep text large (48 pt or more): screens are read from 2 to 4 metres.
Leave a 10% safe margin on every edge.
Use high contrast, such as dark text on a light background.
Include your logo and one clear call to action.
Name files clearly: shop-promo-1920x1080.jpg
